Questions to ask at your lip filler consultation
A short list that separates a careful injector from a quick upsell.

The consultation, not the injection, is where a good lip result is quietly set up or lost. It is a short conversation, but the questions you ask, and the way they are answered, tell you most of what you need to know about whether you are in careful hands.
Start by asking what the injector would actually do and why: how much product they suggest, where they would place it, and what they are trying to achieve with your particular lips. Ask what you should expect at day one versus one week, since the swollen lips you see right after treatment are not the real result, a point worth understanding before you commit. Ask what happens if you are unhappy, and listen for a clear explanation that hyaluronic acid can be dissolved. Ask to see before-and-after photos of patients whose starting lips resembled yours, not just dramatic transformations. And it is worth confirming you are a good candidate with realistic goals before anyone reaches for a syringe.
The answers matter, but so does the posture behind them. A careful injector welcomes questions, talks about restraint and proportion, and is honest that a conservative, gradual approach often looks best. The warning signs run the other way: pushing more product than you asked for, promising dramatic volume, or brushing past your questions about complications. Those are the moments to slow down, because the person doing the work is the single biggest factor in whether you walk away with lips that still look like yours.
